WELCOME TO THE WEBSITE OF THE
AMERICAN LEGION AUXILIARY PETERS CREEK UNIT 33Hello, my name is Debbie Lowndes and I am honored to be your Auxiliary President this year. I realize this is not an easy task entrusted to me, but I promise to give my best to our Unit and Post. I plan to draw on the experience of our current & past Presidents, Commanders, and husband (Joe) who has served two terms as commander, First Vice Commander, Sergeant at Arms and Executive Officer. My commitment is for the health and well being of active duty & retired military and our community.
I have two daughters. My 26 year old (Chrystle) is an Administrator with the Boys & Girls Club of Alaska and my 19 year old (Candice) was attending college in Utah and is soon headed back home. I am an officer for 1st National Bank of Alaska and work for the Vice President of Special Credits.
An awesome team will be serving with me; Audie Reynolds as First Vice, Mary Suellentrop as Second Vice, Linda Schmitt as Secretary, Tammy Rosin as Treasurer, Kathy Richardson as Sgt at Arms, Rae Strosin as Chaplain, Gaye Lavelle, Dixie Bolgiano and Patty Duchesreau as Executive Committee. I hope to encourage and increase communication with my team, SAL and Legion. Where communications fails, so do we.
We have several great volunteers in our Auxiliary that are always there to help and get the job done no matter what the task. The American Legion is the world’s largest veteran’s organization; this year I hope to see an increase in amount of volunteers we have participating indicating our strength and size. Everyone has something that can be contributed to our Unit. We need you.
We have had great success at our children's Christmas and Easter parties. I would like to see a new enthusiasm put into our Junior membership program this year. Let's develop our program on Americanism for our Juniors. We will need volunteers to teach our daughters, granddaughters and nieces the principals behind the American Legion and it’s Auxiliary.
Whether you're a long-time member or a new member don't be surprised this year when I ask for your help with a project, because everyone can and should contribute something to our Post and Community.
For God and Country,
Debbie Lowndes
